Dr. Sherif Ahmed Ban

Dr. Sherif Ahmed Ban is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery in Dubai with over 20 years of clinical experience in upper extremity surgery. He trained and practiced in Germany, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia before joining Burjeel in 2014. He earned his medical degree from Cairo University in 2002 and completed his Master's and Doctorate in Orthopedic Surgery there as well.

Dr. Ban has performed more than 5,000 specialized surgeries and is particularly skilled in hand and wrist surgery, wrist arthroscopy (keyhole wrist surgery), elbow and forearm trauma, and tendon and nerve repair. He treats complex injuries, ligament damage, ununited or misaligned fractures, stiff joints, and arthritis of the hand and wrist. He is experienced in carpal tunnel release, biceps and triceps tendon repair, and flexor and extensor tendon repair. Many of his patients are professional athletes in the UAE. He often performs hand surgery under local anesthesia, which allows faster recovery without general anesthesia.

Fluent in English, Arabic, and German, Dr. Ban is an active speaker at regional and international medical conferences and holds membership in several professional societies including the Egyptian Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Egyptian Society of Hand and Microvascular Surgery. He serves as AO Faculty in the MENA region.
