Dr. Anthony Okeke

Dr. Anthony Okeke is an experienced acute and general internal medicine physician based at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai. He graduated from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and completed his internship at Queen Elizabeth Specialist Hospital in Umuahia before pursuing residency training in general internal medicine in Nigeria. In 1990, he relocated to the UK for advanced specialist training in general internal medicine and cardiology, where he spent 22 years in the NHS as a resident and consultant.

Dr. Okeke specializes in diagnosing and managing complex and difficult-to-diagnose conditions. His areas of expertise include infectious diseases, sepsis and tropical medicine, poisoning and drug overdoses, autoimmune disorders, liver disease (including hepatitis and fatty liver), electrolyte imbalances, anaemia, kidney and urinary tract infections, chest pain syndromes, and bone health issues. He also manages chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorders and high cholesterol, and provides non-invasive heart care.

Prior to joining Al Zahra Hospital in December 2012, Dr. Okeke held consultant positions at Conquest Hospital in East Sussex and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, Essex. He served as Head of the Medical Services Directorate at Al Zahra Hospital for six years, bringing both clinical expertise and leadership experience.
