Dr. Jomar Souza

Dr. Jomar Souza is a sports medicine physician with over three decades of clinical experience, having practiced since 1995 in Brazil and internationally across the Middle East. He holds a medical degree from the School of Medicine and Public Health in Salvador, Brazil (1993) and completed postgraduate training in sports medicine from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1995). He is currently practising at UPANDRUNNING Medical Center in Dubai and brings expertise spanning athlete health screening, musculoskeletal diagnosis and treatment, and exercise prescription for patients with chronic diseases.

His clinical work covers comprehensive sports medicine services including pre-participation health evaluations for athletes, management of sports-related injuries, medical coverage at sporting events, and team physician duties. Dr. Jomar has taught sports and exercise medicine at university level, with specialist knowledge in concussion management, exercise physiology in extreme environments (high altitude, heat, cold), doping control, and diving medicine. He holds a FIFA Medical Diploma, reflecting formal accreditation in football (soccer) medicine.

Dr. Jomar is an enthusiast for telemedicine and works well with athletes of all levels, recreational exercisers, and people managing chronic conditions through structured exercise programmes. His background leading the Brazilian Society of Sports Medicine and directing federation-level medical programmes demonstrates leadership in the field.
