Dr. Nidhi Panwar

Dr. Nidhi Panwar is a consultant vitreo-retinal and cataract surgeon with 20 years of clinical experience across leading eye hospitals in India and the UAE. She trained at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, where she completed her MD in Ophthalmology, and undertook specialized fellowship training in vitreo-retinal diseases at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. She holds internationally recognized qualifications including FRCS (Glasgow), MRCS (Edinburgh), and FICO (UK), and is currently based at NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah, where she has worked since June 2018.

Dr. Panwar specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of complex retinal conditions, particularly diabetic retinopathy, macular disorders, retinal detachments, and uveitis (eye inflammation). She performs advanced keyhole retinal surgery (vitrectomy), laser treatments, and retinal injections to manage these conditions. She is also highly skilled in sutureless cataract surgery, using modern foldable intraocular lenses to restore vision after cataract removal. Her expertise includes treatment of retinal tears, retinal vascular blockages, and minor eyelid procedures.

An active academician, Dr. Panwar has published in national and international journals and regularly contributes to the Retina Image Bank, a global open-access repository for retinal cases. She participates as faculty at scientific conferences and is involved in training fellows and postgraduate students. She is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
