Dr. Sandra Fiorentini

Dr Sandra Fiorentini is a consultant ophthalmologist with extensive training across three continents. She completed her ophthalmology training in 2003 at the Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil, where she also pursued fellowships in cornea and external eye diseases and refractive surgery, followed by a PhD in anterior segment eye diseases. She trained further at Santa Maria Teaching Hospital in Lisbon to become a European board-certified consultant, and completed advanced postgraduate training in refractive and cataract surgery at Ulster University in the UK.

Dr Fiorentini has practised ophthalmology in Portugal, Ireland, and the UK before relocating to the UAE. She brings clinical expertise across laser vision correction (LASIK, FemtoLASIK, PRK, and newer SMILE techniques), cataract surgery with lens implants, cornea disease management including crosslinking for keratoconus, and specialised procedures such as anti-VEGF injections for retinal conditions. She previously worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital, one of the world's leading eye hospitals, before joining Mediclinic Dubai.
