Dr. Zahoor Ahmad

Dr Zahoor Ahmad is a consultant general surgeon with over 15 years of experience, including 11 years practising in the UAE. He trained at leading teaching hospitals in Pakistan—Khyber Teaching Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital—before joining Mediclinic Abu Dhabi. He holds fellowships from the American College of Surgeons and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, and completed specialist training in laparoscopic surgery at Strasbourg University, France. He is ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certified.

Dr Ahmad specializes in a broad range of general surgical conditions, with particular expertise in keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery for gallbladder removal, hernia repair, and complex abdominal wall hernias. He also treats bowel and colon conditions, breast surgery, and skin tumours. He has developed a special focus on minimal-invasive techniques for hernias and laser surgery for anal conditions including fistulas, fissures, and haemorrhoids. He regularly presents at international conferences and keeps current with emerging surgical techniques.

He is an active researcher and educator, having published peer-reviewed papers in national and international journals. He is a member of the Pakistan Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the European Hernia Society, reflecting his commitment to specialist networks in surgery.
