Prof. Tamer Ali AbouElgreed

Prof. Tamer Ali AbouElgreed is a Consultant Urologist at Burjeel Abu Dhabi with 22 years of clinical experience across a broad range of urological conditions and advanced surgical techniques. He trained in urology at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, completing his residency in 2001 and earning a Master's degree in 2004, followed by a Medical Doctorate. He progressed to become a Lecturer at Al-Azhar and its teaching hospitals, where he trained medical students and specialist doctors. In 2015, he joined Thumbay Hospital in Ajman as a Consultant Urologist, and simultaneously took on the role of Assistant Professor and Head of the Urology Department at Gulf Medical University in the UAE. In 2019, he completed advanced fellowship training in laparoscopic and robotic surgery from Heidelberg University and the European Board of Urology at SLK Hospital in Germany. In 2023, he was appointed Professor of Urology at Al-Azhar University.

Prof. AbouElgreed specializes in minimally invasive surgery—including robotic and laparoscopic approaches—and treats kidney stones (with laser therapy), prostate conditions, pediatric urological problems, bladder and urinary incontinence, male infertility, and urological cancers. He has performed more than 2,500 urological surgeries in the UAE over the past decade and has published over 50 peer-reviewed research papers.
