Dr. Amr Abdelghaffar Hanfy Mahmoud

Dr. Amr Abdelghaffar Hanfy Mahmoud is a Consultant and Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery at Ain Shams University Hospitals in Cairo with over 12 years of clinical experience. He holds a Doctorate in Vascular Surgery and has completed international clinical fellowships in the Netherlands and Germany, training in some of Europe's leading vascular centres.

Dr. Mahmoud specialises in complex endovascular (keyhole) procedures for blood vessel diseases. His main areas of focus include peripheral arterial disease (narrowed arteries in the legs), diabetic foot and limb salvage surgery, vascular access for dialysis patients (including in children), vascular trauma, venous reconstruction, and aortic interventions such as EVAR and TEVAR (minimally invasive repair of the main artery). He has established dedicated units for diabetic foot treatment and venous conditions within his hospital setting.

He is an active researcher with publications in high-impact international journals including the European Journal of Vascular Surgery, and regularly presents findings at major conferences. Dr. Mahmoud leads multidisciplinary surgical teams and supervises training for junior surgeons. He is fluent in Arabic, English and German (B2 level), making him accessible to international patients.
