Dr. Abdelmajeed Mahmoud

Dr. Abdelmajeed Mahmoud is a consultant gastroenterologist with over 15 years of clinical experience across Egypt and the UAE. He graduated from Assiut University, Egypt in 2007 and completed specialist training in gastroenterology, including a master's degree (MSc) from Assiut University Hospital in 2012. He undertook advanced hepatology training at King's College Hospital in London in 2014, where he specialised in liver disease, and completed his medical doctorate (MD, PhD) in gastroenterology in 2017. Before moving to the UAE in 2018, he worked as a consultant at leading university hospitals in Egypt.

Dr. Abdelmajeed treats a broad range of gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatic conditions, from common problems like heartburn and indigestion to complex inflammatory bowel diseases, liver cirrhosis and viral hepatitis. He performs both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures — gastroscopy (looking down the oesophagus and stomach), colonoscopy (looking into the colon), stricture dilatation (widening narrowed passages), and advanced techniques for managing internal bleeding including variceal band ligation and clipping. He also performs GI motility studies and fibroscan (a non-invasive test for liver fibrosis).

He maintains a strong interest in research and has published in reputable international medical journals. Dr. Abdelmajeed is an active member of national and international gastroenterology societies and has attended specialist conferences and endoscopy training workshops across Europe and the Middle East.
