Dr. Amr El Shawarbi

Dr. Amr El Shawarbi is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery in Dubai, with more than 28 years of clinical and surgical expertise. He graduated from Alexandria University with his MBBCh in 1992, then completed advanced training in Germany, earning a Master's degree in Neurosurgery, Ph.D./MD in Neurosurgery from Lower Saxony in 2003, and German Board certification (Facharzt) in Neurosurgery. He trained at Nordstadt Hospital in Hannover, where he developed specialized expertise across multiple neurosurgical disciplines.

Dr. El Shawarbi's clinical practice focuses on skull base surgery, complex spine surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, neuromodulation, and neurovascular surgery. He has held senior leadership positions including Head of Neurosurgery at Tawam Hospital and Medical Director for Neuroscience at SEHA, where he pioneered the region's first stroke program and established pediatric neurosurgery services. He is recognized internationally and has led professional societies in the Middle East and globally.
