Dr. Nael Mohamed

Dr. Nael Mohamed is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Reem Hospital in Abu Dhabi with over 10 years of experience in general psychiatry and addiction treatment. He holds an Arab Board certification in psychiatry and advanced training in addiction and public health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in the USA. His clinical work spans substance abuse prevention, psychotherapy, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and managing co-occurring disorders.

Dr. Nael's treatment approach is grounded in bio-psycho-social assessment. He provides detoxification, rehabilitation, relapse prevention, and psychotherapy to help patients recover from alcohol and substance use disorders. His expertise includes evaluating complex cases where addiction coexists with other mental health conditions, and he designs individualised treatment plans based on each patient's unique needs.

He is an active educator and trainer, serving as a UNODC Treatnet Master Trainer and delivering the Unplugged Prevention Program. Dr. Nael has published work on psychiatry and substance abuse, and he brings a structured, evidence-informed approach to addiction medicine combined with motivational skills in counselling.
