Dr. Nicholas Sangala

Dr Nicholas Sangala is a Consultant Nephrologist with 10 years of experience in kidney medicine, dialysis, and transplantation. He trained at King's College London and completed specialist nephrology training at the Wessex Kidney Centre, one of the UK's largest haemodialysis and renal transplant centres. He is dual qualified in Nephrology and Intensive Care Medicine, and has worked at leading centres including King's College Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London.

Dr Sangala manages the full spectrum of kidney disease. He is highly skilled in haemodialysis, haemodiafiltration, and peritoneal dialysis, with particular expertise in vascular access — both temporary and permanent catheter placement and complex arteriovenous fistula and graft management. He has led one of the UK's largest home haemodialysis programmes. He also provides comprehensive kidney transplant care, from pre-transplant optimisation through long-term follow-up, and performs renal biopsies (native and transplant). He established a dedicated renal vasculitis service in the UK, offering specialist care for autoimmune kidney diseases.

Dr Sangala is passionate about early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease progression. He is a patient-centred clinician who works collaboratively with patients to optimise their quality of life on dialysis. Beyond clinical practice, he is a digital health leader advancing technology-enabled, personalised kidney care that empowers patients to manage their health independently.
