Dr. Ilari NJ Pajamaki

Dr. Ilari Pajamaki is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon with more than 15 years of experience. He completed his medical degree at Tampere University Medical School, Finland in 2003 and undertook specialist training in Orthopaedics and Traumatology starting in 2006. He trained at Hatanpaa Hospital Arthroscopy Center (2007–2009), which was accredited by the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy, and then spent seven years at Tampere University Hospital, one of Finland's largest teaching hospitals and a level-I trauma centre. He has held senior leadership roles, including Head of the Pelvic and Lower Limb Unit (2015–2018) and Deputy Chief of Orthopaedics and Traumatology with responsibility for trauma (2017–2018).

Dr. Pajamaki has extensive experience in hip replacement surgery, having trained at Coxa Joint Replacement Center in Tampere—Northern Europe's largest joint replacement unit, which performs around 6,500 replacements annually. His core skills include hip arthroscopy (keyhole hip surgery), hip labrum repair, femoroacetabular impingement correction, and complex fracture treatment including pelvic injuries and bone infections. He also has a strong background in sports medicine, serving as Head of the Medical Team for a Finnish National League ice-hockey team for six years and treating numerous professional athletes.

Since mid-2018 he has worked full-time in the UAE and joined Mediclinic Parkview Hospital in January 2019. He holds the title of Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at MBRU (2019 onwards) and is a faculty member of AOTrauma Europe. He is well suited for patients needing specialised hip surgery, trauma care, or treatment of sports-related injuries.
