Dr. Azzam Fayyad

Dr. Azzam Fayyad is Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Medcare Orthopedics & Spine Hospital in Dubai. He trained in Germany as a consultant (Facharzt) in orthopaedics and trauma surgery, completing his medical residency at several teaching hospitals including the University of Düsseldorf. He holds additional diplomas in sports medicine, chiropractic and manual medicine, diagnostic radiology and ultrasound. With 20 years of experience, he is an associate clinical professor at the University of Sharjah and program director of the orthopaedic residency programme.

Dr. Fayyad specialises in minimally invasive (keyhole) joint surgery. He has extensive experience in shoulder arthroscopy — including rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization and treatment of shoulder impingement — and knee arthroscopy for ligament reconstruction (ACL/PCL), meniscal repair and cartilage restoration. He also performs joint replacement surgery for the hip, knee and shoulder, as well as revision surgery when joints need to be replaced again. His additional expertise includes hip arthroscopy for labral repair, foot surgery for bunions and hammertoes, and fracture management in both adults and children.

Dr. Fayyad uses both traditional surgical techniques and modern regenerative approaches, including platelet-rich plasma and stem cell treatments for joint conditions. He is a member of the German Association of Traumatology, German Association of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, and German Association of Sports Medicine.
