Dr. Nahed Balalaa

Dr. Nahed Balalaa is a Consultant Breast Surgeon in the General Surgery Department at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with 18 years of clinical experience. She holds an MBBCh, MRCS qualification, Arab Board certification in General Surgery, and European Board certification in Breast Surgery. She also holds an Executive Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Zayed University (in partnership with universities in the United States).

Dr. Balalaa's clinical practice focuses on comprehensive care for women with breast disease, breast cancer, and oncoplastic surgery—a specialized approach that combines cancer removal with cosmetic reconstruction. She performs oncoplastic breast surgery, mastectomies, and all types of breast-conserving procedures. She serves as a Lead Physician for Breast Cancer campaigns and regularly participates in awareness workshops and community education activities.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Balalaa is deeply involved in medical education and research. She is a core faculty member in the General Surgery Integrated Residency Programme at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City and an adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of General Surgery at both Gulf Medical University and Khalifa University. She is an active member of multidisciplinary committees within her hospital and contributes to teaching, course design, and clinical research in her field.
