Dr. Vinod S. Hegade is a UK board-certified Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at American Hospital Dubai, with 14 years of clinical experience in the NHS. He trained extensively in the United Kingdom, completing his medical degree at RGUHS in Bangalore, India, before pursuing specialist training in gastroenterology and hepatology in West Yorkshire. He undertook research at Newcastle University, where he completed a PhD in cholestatic pruritus (a liver-related itching condition), and received advanced training in transplant hepatology at Freeman Hospital and advanced endoscopy at Leeds.

Dr. Hegade's clinical expertise centres on liver transplantation, autoimmune liver diseases (including AIH, primary biliary cirrhosis, and primary sclerosing cholangitis), and advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), a minimally invasive technique to treat bile duct and pancreas problems.
